Another subject that seems harmless enough, but you are not so lucky !!

A very inexpensive street-vendor food is duck eggs, not just any eggs, this is an egg that has been allowed to fertilize. It is then kept warm to ensure a baby duck is growing, from 19 – 21 days the duckling is ripe enough to put in a pot of boiling water and cooked just like a boiled egg. At 21 days it is recognizable as a baby duck, has bones, soft feathers which are tender when cooked.
Eaten with chili and vinegar, the broth that surrounded the embryo is sipped before the egg is completely peeled. Almost everything is eaten inside, but the white is sometimes left as it is hard.
Official name is balut (egg), which is native to the Philippines, and also eaten in Laos and Cambodia.
