Every bit of land is used, small alleys weave their way through the maze in Hanoi.
You have to give the Vietnamese a big box of credit when it comes to the creativity that is
Small alleys weave their way through Hanoi City, this is part of its charm and daily life of the locals. Hanoi is full a maze of alleys with house front doors on the alley, needs lots good sense of distance to maneuver plus good memory . .. . . I would love to see you try and get a truck through here. Something to think of when choosing a house to live in.
released when something needs to get from A to B !! You name it; it gets transported on a motor bike.
The sense of balance of the rider is nothing short of acrobatic, in all the years I have been on the streets taking photos; I have never seen one meet up with a nasty accident. Most sensibly take it easy and are not speeding around the city !! Well ok, a few are, but that just adds to the electric buzz and excitement of being there.
Even on your own you will find yourself saying ‘WOW !! did you see THAT??’
You might be thinking, why don’t they just throw all that stuff in the back of a truck?? Happy chappy with his load of boxes of fruit, a lady and a bicycle – coming back from Long Bien Market. Good on ya !!
Walking around the city you will see these types of loads and more. Without spending a lot of time on the streets, it can be tricky to photograph, as you just have to be lucky to see them and have the camera ready at the same time. I have been known to follow them, pass them and then photograph them.
I love to share part of my collection with you, as I still get a kick out of looking at them.
I can’t get enough of this, as it feels so Vietnamese to me, there is always something new.
No more chatting, have a look for yourself !!
5 large sheets of lining material, can you imagine how heavy this is? Actually they weigh about 50-70 lbs each or 20-30 kgs each = 250 – 350 lbs or 100-150 kgs !!
