In the past the ratio of motorbike to car was 100 to one. It is hard to know without the statistics to back this. Not only have the car numbers increased but so have the motorbikes.
I am not sure if this is a joke or not, but I sometimes wonder if these new car drivers remember they are now driving a car or not ?? The places they drive which creates mini traffic jams make me wonder if they think they are still on their bike ??
Hanoi is not really designed for cars at all, lots of narrow streets and alleys that will never have a car running through them.

It is a problem of massive growth and increase of incomes, which is an achievement but creating headaches for the authorities who are trying to find solutions to this problem, which will only get worse as more people can afford a motorbike or car.
